Sara + Mark // Chapel Hill, NC Wedding Photographer

Last Winter, I had the special honor of helping my friend and talented photographer Emily Baucom (based in Charleston, SC) shoot a wedding in Chapel Hill. I LOVE second shooting because it allows me to hang more in the background and capture more candid moments. I also love shooting allllll the pretty details. : ) Plus I loved hanging out with Emily, who I haven’t seen in YEARS. She’s a gem of a human.

Enjoy some of my favorites and also take a peak at Emily’s blog post for the full day!

COURTNEY + SHANE - Pretty Place Wedding

Courtney and Shane got married on a BEAUTIFUL spring day. Look at that dreamy light!

The ceremony was held at the Fred W. Symmes Chapel -- aka the pretty place -- in Cleveland, South Carolina. My GOODNESS this place has gorgeous views; it is tucked away in the Appalachians near the NC-SC state line. Love those mountain backdrops! And it is so peaceful there. The reception was held at the Highland Lake Inn in Flat Rock, North Carolina. Both were lovely landscapes for a wedding day!

Courtney & Shane, y'all were a pleasure to be with and photograph. Thank you for letting me be there! And a quick fun fact for everyone: the groom's twin sister was a past bride of mine. And get this: the bride has her own twin! I LOVE twins -- so great! : ) Enjoy this wedding, y'all.

Twin moment. : )

Love the color of the bridesmaids' dresses!

Courtney placed her late grandmother's brooch on her bouquet.Shane was so pumped to see his bride!

Twin getting emotional. So sweet.

Gorgeous girl!

LOVE this one.

So adorable!

Courtney's late grandmother's sister. She and her sisters got a little emotional when saying goodbye.

Hilarious bouquet toss sequence. I think Courtney and her twin planned it?! : )

Shout out to Amy + James on the left! Heart y'all. : )

EMILY + TRAVIS - 128 South Wedding

I'm not gonna lie... I was pretty nervous about shooting this wedding. Why? Because Emily is a wedding photographer (check out her beautiful site HERE), and this girl has got some style for DAYS. On top of having butterflies about shooting, Sandy showed up to this wedding, even though she wasn't invited. Hurricane Sandy, that is... This wedding took place in one of my favorite cities -- Wilmington, NC -- and Sandy was FIERCE that day! Emily and Travis had planned for an outdoor beachfront ceremony, and Sandy made that impossible. They were forced to move everything inside at the last minute into their reception venue -- 128 South. But the best thing? Emily and Travis were the epitome of calm; they knew they couldn't control the weather and they simply focused on each other.

There were so many beautiful details at this wedding, and the music playlist was hands down the BEST I've ever heard! I found myself singing to most of the songs and not wanting the night to end. : ) I loved being there to help Emily & Travis celebrate. The hurricane truly couldn't hold them down (or their guests)!

Emily, you are gorgeous. Forgive me folks, I posted a lot of bridal shots because I couldn't choose my favorites!!!

LOVED the custom sleeves Emily had made for her dress.

Best first look face EVER.

It was so sweet how emotional Emily's dad was during the ceremony.

If you're an Instagram fanatic like me, you'll think this idea is GENIUS. Everyone should hash tag their weddings! : )

This homegirl had some killer Thriller moves!
