Hi, I'm Melissa. Pleased to meet you!

So glad you made it to my little corner of the digital world. I'm a wedding & family photographer based in North Carolina. I'm married to my best friend. We have a full house and full hearts. :)
Don’t like having your photo taken? Guess what — I don’t love it either! But I believe it's important, because time is a thief. I pride myself on keeping you comfortable in front of my camera. I want you to come away from a session feeling beautiful and empowered!

Documentary-style photography

I have been photographing people (professionally!) for 15+ years. I've photographed 100+ weddings and countless families and babies. I’m a former journalist with a bachelors degree in photojournalism. My training helps me document those moments that are fleeting and precious. I think the best photos are taken when you don't realize the camera is even there. :)

My goal as your photographer is to capture images that reflect YOU and the genuineness of your relationships. I love to tell people’s stories in an authentic and timeless way, and I feel so grateful that my clients let me capture their most intimate and celebrated moments.

I appreciate spirited couples and families who value connection and adventure. And most of all, I believe in celebrating our differences; every person is unique and deserves to be seen and heard.

A little more about me!

I'm easygoing and value humor a LOT in my relationships.

Hugs are the best form of a dopamine hit. I seek close, long ones daily from family and friends.

I LOVE to travel and experience new places.

I'm 100% an anthophile; whenever we travel, visiting a botanical garden is #1 on my list.

I love to hand embroider things (follow my creations @melissatuckstitches)!

I thoroughly enjoy cold brew coffee (much to my detriment at bedtime).

I think clean laundry and eucalyptus oil are two of the best smells.

Dancing is good for my soul and movement in general does wonders for my mental health.

I'm a BIG fan of veggies, cheese and all things chocolate.

I believe humility and confidence are equally important. To me, life is all about finding balance, and I work every day at achieving my own.
